Synopsis and details :
Sam Wheat, cadre dans une banque dévouée aux affaires, vit heureux avec Molly Jensen, sa compagne, sculpteur de talent. Un soir, au retour d'un spectacle, Sam s'effondre, victime des balles de Willie Lopez, un malfrat, et meurt dans les bras de Molly. Son fantôme va rapidement s'apercevoir que c'est son meilleur ami, Carl Bruner, qui a commandité le meurtre. Impliqué dans un trafic de blanchiment d'argent avec la mafia, Carl savait que Sam découvrirait tôt ou tard le pot aux roses.
